Message from the Chair

On behalf of the Workers’ Compensation Self-Insurance Trust (WCSIT), I can say with great satisfaction that for more than 25 years, WCSIT has been a secure haven for its school district members.

WCSIT proudly carries the endorsement of both the Illinois Association of School Boards and the Illinois Association of School Administrators. The support of such preeminent public school associations speaks volumes about the level of confidence that they place in our program.

Members of WCSIT carry the same level of confidence in the programs and services provided. Over the years, WCSIT has added member programs such as school board legal liability coverage, student accident coverage and treasurer’s surety bonds. WCSIT provides members with access to many risk management tools, including the School Leaders Risk Management Association (www.slrma.org).

The WCSIT Board of Trustees, charged with overseeing operations of the Trust, has solved problems through teamwork amongst school board members, superintendents and business managers to solve problems. The Board takes pride in forging innovative additional member benefits while maintaining a consistent dedication to service of its members. Change has been embraced as the Board keeps the program direction relevant by remaining innovative, competitive and, most of all, dynamic. The diversity of the Board is its true strength, accepting nothing less than excellence.

WCSIT will continue to be Illinois public school districts’ leader, advocate and authority on workers’ compensation coverage and other coverages. Our approach allows your administrators direct access to the overall supervision of your school district’s risk management needs and responsibilities. That has been our mission for over 25 years, and will remain a commitment to you for the future.
